Take Heart
The Syndicate has emerged victorious in the trials, propelled by numbers and a narrow focus on the goals of the trial. They worked in a formulated motion that mirrored their view of the world – lifeless, cold, and calculated. Neither the Syndicate nor the Marauders cared about the lives lost to achieve their goals, only the victory mattered. In the end, we did more with fewer, and with grace were able to protect our own members.
We now must take the lessons learned from this experience and apply them to our teachings. That, while unsuccessful in the trials, we found that our view of the world truly is the greatest way to protect Aeternum. We have now experienced the singular focus of the Syndicate and the rampant violence of the Marauders, and have a better understanding of how to deal with both. If a trial like this should ever come to pass again, we will be prepared – but the wisdom we have gained will always be useful, come what may.
Be proud and continue our vital work. The truth of Aeternum will be ours to understand and teach, and no formula or axe’s blade can change that.
