Brimstone Sands
Brimstone Sands is one of the oldest and most historically layered territories in Aeternum. The enormous desert contains the ruins of civilizations separated by centuries, yet the island’s immortality allows their remnants to continue existing beside one another.
Ancient Egyptians arrived in the region thousands of years ago and encountered the mysterious beings now known as the Ancients. They built cities, monuments, temples, and great works around that encounter. Imhotep remains one of the most important surviving links to this distant era. Much later, the Roman 19th Legion reached Brimstone Sands and attempted to impose its own order on the territory, only to become another civilization consumed by Aeternum’s supernatural forces.
The region is filled with Ancient glyphs, Egyptian monuments, Roman fortifications, the great pyramid of Akhet, and dangers buried beneath the sands. Brimstone Sands is therefore more than a desert frontier: it is one of the best places in Aeternum to study the Ancients, the cost of immortality, and the repeated failure of human civilizations that believed they could master the island.
