Edengrove is the territory where the Angry Earth is most clearly presented as a society and spiritual force rather than simply a collection of hostile creatures. It is their home, communal center, and one of the most sacred natural regions on Aeternum.

The Angry Earth

The Angry Earth behaves as a defense mechanism for the island. Its members protect locations, organisms, and sources of natural power that they consider threatened by outsiders. Human settlement, harvesting, experimentation, and Corruption can all provoke their response.

In Edengrove, this behavior has a cultural dimension. The region contains places that appear to function as nurseries, sanctuaries, and centers of shared purpose.

The Garden of Genesis

The Garden of Genesis is one of the most important Angry Earth locations in Aeternum. It is described as a birthplace or primordial nursery of the Angry Earth. When the Garden became infected with Blight, outsiders were forced into the unusual position of entering a sacred place that would normally reject them in order to help purge a threat the Angry Earth could not remove alone.

Ancient Ruins Reclaimed by Nature

Ancient structures are scattered throughout Edengrove, but vegetation has consumed many of them so completely that their original purpose is difficult to recognize. This creates one of the island’s largest unanswered historical questions: what relationship existed between the Ancients and the forces represented by the Angry Earth?

Myrddin studied this question centuries ago. His surviving research treats the connection as something worth investigating rather than something already understood.

Aeternum Defending Itself

Edengrove is important because it challenges the human perspective of the island. To settlers, the territory is dangerous wilderness. From the perspective of the Angry Earth, humans may be the invasive force.

The region’s lore therefore reframes many conflicts across Aeternum. Not every enemy is seeking conquest. Some are trying to preserve a world that human civilizations repeatedly alter, harvest, excavate, and corrupt.
