First Light
First Light is a historical territory of Aeternum rather than a region that still exists in its original form. It once served as a welcoming coastal area for new arrivals, with farms, settlements, roads, and communities built around the belief that a stable life could be established on the island.
That history ended when the Angry Earth, led by Artemis, overwhelmed the region. First Light was closed off behind a deadly natural barrier, its settlement and surrounding lands were lost, and the territory eventually re-emerged as the Elysian Wilds.
Preserving First Light as a separate historical entry is important because its lore records a version of Aeternum that no longer exists. Its local stories, seafaring traditions, settlers, and old ruins provide context for understanding how complete the later transformation was. First Light is therefore best viewed as the ‘before’ chapter of the Elysian Wilds: a human-settled territory whose destruction demonstrates that even established geography is not permanent on Aeternum.
