Reekwater
Reekwater is a fetid southeastern marsh filled with fungi, flooded ruins, waterways, and the influence of the Siren Queen. The territory’s decay hides the remains of an earlier attempt to turn the swamp into a thriving coastal settlement.
Fisherfolk once came to the region because of its rich waters and established Bayou Village over submerged Ancient ruins. They imagined a prosperous community connected by waterways, but the arrival of the Siren Queen and her followers shattered that future.
The Siren Queen and her crew became Lost, yet retained enough organization and purpose to dominate the region. Her Song draws victims into her control, while her followers enslave survivors and pursue her obsessive desire to recover what has been lost. Reekwater is therefore a major territory for understanding the Lost: undeath on Aeternum does not always erase intelligence, hierarchy, memory, or ambition.
