Music & Riding
Music and Riding are independently leveled Trade Skills that sit outside the traditional Gather → Refine → Craft economy. Music turns performances into profession XP and useful buffs, while Riding improves mounted travel through quests, races, food, and mount-related progression.
Both systems provide persistent progression without requiring a character to specialize away from other Trade Skills.
Utility Trade Skills
Music
Music is a rhythm-based Trade Skill built around five instrument types: Guitar, Mandolin, Upright Bass, Drums, and Azoth Flute. Players learn songs from collectible song pages and can perform alone or with groups. Better performances grant Trade Skill XP and can provide long-duration buffs related to gathering, territory standing, group XP, encumbrance, yield, and luck.
Riding
Riding was introduced with Rise of the Angry Earth. Players can master horses, dire wolves, and lions while increasing their Riding Trade Skill through mount-focused activities. Riding progression improves travel and unlocks mount-related bonuses, consumable food tiers, and other rewards.
Unlike gathering and crafting, Riding is primarily a traversal system—but its faster movement also makes it indirectly valuable for resource routes, open-world objectives, and general exploration.
