Crafting

Crafting Trade Skills turn Aeternum’s gathered and refined resources into finished equipment, consumables, tools, housing items, and other useful products. Each profession has its own recipes and primary crafting station, but most advanced crafts draw materials from several different Gathering and Refining skills.

A character can level every Crafting profession; New World does not require permanent profession choices.

Crafting Progression

Crafting skills can be leveled to 250. Higher levels unlock more advanced recipes and improve access to the endgame crafting ecosystem. Crafting XP is earned by producing items, with the First Craft Bonus providing substantially increased XP the first time a character makes a specific recipe.

This makes recipe variety valuable while leveling: creating many different items for the first time can be more efficient than repeatedly crafting only one recipe.

Crafting and the Modern Endgame

New World: Aeternum’s endgame equipment systems changed significantly with Season 10: Nighthaven. The maximum Gear Score increased to 800, and the Perk Charm system introduced a new method of modifying equipment through socketed Offensive, Defensive, Skill, and Gem-related customization.

Because of those changes, older guides built around previous Gear Score 600, 700, or 725 crafting systems can contain outdated advice. This Codex should treat those mechanics as legacy information when they no longer describe the current Nighthaven-era ruleset.

A Connected Economy

High-level crafting rarely depends on a single profession. A weapon may require refined metals, wood, leather, special drops, and profession-specific components. As a result, the most efficient crafters often maintain several Gathering and Refining skills or rely on the Trading Post and other players to supply missing materials.
